Palimpsests is a crazy trip of a read. First of all, this was an underrated book when it came out, so is not well known today.
If you are reading this review, that is impressive in and of itself. I will start this review by saying that this book is not for everyone.
The reasons that I loved it are the exact same reasons that others will hate it/5. Drawing together diverse literary, critical and theoretical texts in which the palimpsest has appeared since its inauguration by Thomas De Quincey inPalimpsest: Literature, Criticism, Theory provides the first ever genealogy of this metaphor.
Sarah Dillon's original theorisation argues that the palimpsest has an involuted structure which illuminates and advances modern by: POTSHERD. pot'-shurd (cheres): A piece of earthenware (Job Psalm Isaiah ).
